School's Out for the Summer!
Posted on May 13 2016
Summertime is well on its way and before we know it, the kids will be out of school for summer break. I’m sure you moms out there are gearing up for full houses and long days of entertaining the little ones. We have the perfect activity to keep them busy this summer and strengthen their “green thumb”! And…I know we’re not the only ones obsessing over succulents!!!
Succulents require minimal effort and care, while still providing a “responsibility” for children to call their own. They are so easy to keep alive and the perfect plant for beginners! Succulents can be kept indoors or out (get the little ones outside to “play”!!!). Rustic Brands has a few tips to help you and your little one care for their succulents!
HOW TO KEEP YOUR SUCCULENTS ALIVE:
1. AVOID OVER-WATERING
Only water plan when soil is dry (to the touch) from previous watering.
2. USE SPRAY/MISTING BOTTLE
This is the best way to avoid water-logging those pretty little guys!
3. KEEP IN MODERATELY SUNLIT AREA
Avoid darkness or direct sunlight. Luckily, these small pallet boxes are easy to move in and out of sunlight in order to vary its exposure and help the succulent live up to their full potential.
Come summer’s end, this is something they can gift to their sitter, family member, friend, or even take back to school for their new teacher! Let the kids get creative and paint, stencil, or add a monogrammed design to the pallet box planters! The options are endless and we want to see what your little ones come up with!
